Collection day is one of our favourite days of the year. The moment a family meets their Siam-Amor kitten for the first time is something we never take for granted. But behind every joyful collection day is a process that begins long before — and a pack that is designed to make sure every family leaves feeling completely prepared, completely confident, and completely supported. Here is everything that goes into it.

It begins at reservation — not collection day

When your kitten is reserved, we send a comprehensive digital welcome pack directly to you. This is our way of making sure that from the very first day your kitten is officially yours, you feel informed, excited and never left wondering what happens next.

The welcome pack covers everything — from what happens between now and collection day, to health and vet care, diet and feeding, insurance, what is in your physical kitten pack, our product recommendations with exclusive discount codes, how to prepare your home, what to expect in the first few days, and the ongoing support we offer after collection.

What happens between reservation and collection day

🐾 Reservation confirmed — you receive your digital welcome pack. Take your time reading through it, start using our exclusive discount codes to get everything ready, and know we are always just a WhatsApp message away.

🐾 Once your kitten reaches around 3 weeks old — we begin sending you photos and videos via WhatsApp every two weeks so you can watch them grow week by week.

🐾 Six weeks before collection — we send your Kitten Sales Agreement, the agreement needs to be signed within 3 days of receipt. We are unable to allow any kitten to leave without a completed agreement in place.

🐾 Collection day — your kitten comes home. We confirm the exact date and time via WhatsApp closer to the time.

No question is ever too small between reservation and collection. We would always rather you ask than wonder.

What's in your physical kitten pack

On collection day, your kitten comes home with everything they need to get settled and started. We put a great deal of love into every pack — here is everything that is included.

The comfort items

🐾 Scent blanket — the single most important item in the entire pack. It carries the scent of their mother, their littermates and the home they have known since birth. The moment you arrive home, before you do anything else, place this blanket in their safe space. The familiar smell is profoundly calming in those first hours.

🐾 Soft calming bed — selected to feel cosy and secure when settling into a new environment. Set this up before you leave to collect them, with the scent blanket already inside.

🐾 Familiar toys — toys they have already been playing with at Siam-Amor. Familiar objects ease the transition significantly. Save the new toys for day two.

🐾 Treats and more surprises — their favourite treats plus a few extra little things we think you will both love.

🐾 Wet food and dry food — their exact usual food so you can keep their diet completely consistent from their very first meal at home.

The documentation

🐾 Vaccination booklet — fully completed with dates, batch numbers and our vet's signature. Your kitten leaves with two rounds of vaccinations completed — Tricat Trio and Tricat FeLV — protecting against four core feline diseases. Boosters are due annually.

🐾 Microchip documentation — full Petlog paperwork. It is your responsibility as the new owner to transfer the microchip into your name via the Petlog website as soon as possible after collection. Until this is done, the chip remains registered in our name.

🐾 GCCF registration paperwork — your kitten's official GCCF registration documents. You will receive a separate email from the GCCF requesting you to transfer registration into your name.

🐾 GCCF four-generation pedigree certificate — verified lineage across four generations. The story of your kitten's ancestry.

🐾 Signed Kitten Sales Agreement — our full contract, countersigned by us. It sets out our responsibilities to you, what we ask in return, and includes a return clause — a Siam-Amor kitten is our responsibility for life.

🐾 Complimentary insurance confirmation — an initial short-term policy is included as standard. Please have your own comprehensive policy in place before or on collection day — do not rely on the complimentary cover alone.

The complimentary 14-day KatKin fresh food trial

Every Siam-Amor family receives a complimentary 14-day supply of KatKin fresh food, arranged by us and sent directly to your door a couple of days before collection day — so it is ready and waiting when your kitten arrives home. No action needed from you.

KatKin is made from 100% human-grade meat, gently cooked to lock in nutrients, nutritionist-approved and delivered fresh. We feed KatKin to our girls here at The House of Siamese — the difference in coat condition, energy levels and overall vitality genuinely speaks for itself.

🐾 To transition fully to KatKin, mix a small amount with their usual wet food and increase gradually over 7–10 days

Please note: Unfortunately we are unable to arrange the KatKin trial for families travelling from overseas, as KatKin are unable to deliver outside of the UK.

Health and vet care — what your kitten leaves with

By the time your kitten comes home, they will be leaving us healthy, happy and fully up to date. All of our breeding queens are confirmed FIV and FeLV negative, and every Siam-Amor kitten is hereditarily PRA clear.

Vaccinations

Your kitten receives two rounds of vaccinations — Tricat Trio and Tricat FeLV — administered at 8–9 weeks and again at 11–12 weeks. This protects against Feline Calicivirus, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (Cat Flu), Feline Panleucopenia and Feline Leukaemia. Boosters are due annually — the date is noted in the vaccination booklet.

Parasite protection

🐾 Worming — At 2, 5 and 8 weeks using Panacur, and again at 11 weeks using Stronghold. Next dose due at 16 weeks, approximately 4 weeks after collection.

🐾 Flea treatment — First treatment at 11 weeks using Stronghold. Next treatment due at 15 weeks, approximately 3 weeks after collection.

Registering with a new vet

Please register with a local vet as soon as possible after collection — ideally within the first week. Your kitten's full veterinary history is held at our vets. Your new vet is welcome to contact them directly to request records.

Diet and feeding — exactly what your kitten eats

Getting your kitten's diet right from the start is one of the most important things you can do for their long-term health. For the first four weeks at home, please keep their food exactly as it is — consistency matters enormously while they are adjusting to a new environment.

Current diet

🐾 Dry — Sanabelle Kitten Chicken, left down 24 hours a day for free grazing.

🐾 Wet — Smilla Kitten Chicken and Animonda Carny Kitten Baby Pâté.

🐾 Variety — KatKin fresh meals and human-grade meat and fish.

Dry food supports dental health and stable energy levels. Wet food provides essential hydration and higher protein content vital for muscle development and growth. Together they ensure a balanced, complete diet.

What the pack tells you about a breeder

The contents of a kitten pack are one of the most reliable ways to assess the standard a breeder operates to. A kitten sold without a completed vaccination booklet, without GCCF paperwork, without a signed contract, or without microchip transfer documentation is not a kitten being sold by a responsible breeder.

A digital welcome pack sent at reservation. Regular WhatsApp updates from three weeks old. A complimentary 14-day food trial delivered before collection day. A physical pack containing everything from the scent blanket to the four-generation pedigree certificate. A signed contract with a return clause. These are the details that separate a breeder who cares from one who simply sells.

After collection day — what happens next

Once your kitten is home, there are a few important things to take care of in the days that follow:

🐾 GCCF registration transfer — You will receive an email from the GCCF requesting you to transfer your kitten's registration into your name. Full instructions are included — it is a simple process.

🐾 Petlog microchip transfer — Transfer your kitten's microchip into your name via the Petlog website www.petlog.org.uk as soon as possible. The paperwork in your pack contains everything you need. Until this is done, the chip remains registered in our name.

🐾 Register with a vet — Within the first week if possible. Take the vaccination booklet with you.

🐾 Arrange your own insurance — Do not rely solely on the complimentary policy included in your pack. Take out your own lifetime cover policy as soon as possible.

Lifetime breeder support

Our commitment to you and your kitten does not end on collection day — it is just the beginning. We offer lifetime breeder support to every Siam-Amor family. Questions in the first week, questions a year in, questions five years down the line — we answer all of them. What should be included in a kitten pack from a reputable breeder?

At minimum: vaccination booklet, microchip documentation, GCCF registration and pedigree certificate, signed sales contract, feeding guide and pet insurance details. A scent blanket, food samples and toys are also standard from a breeder who cares about the transition.

Why is the scent blanket so important?

The scent blanket carries the smell of mum and littermates — the most familiar, comforting thing in the world to a new kitten. Placed in their safe space the moment they arrive home, it dramatically reduces stress and helps them settle faster. It is the single most effective thing you can do in those first few hours.

Why is a kitten sales contract important?

It protects both parties. It sets out health guarantees, the return policy and the conditions of sale. Any reputable breeder should provide one without hesitation. If they do not, that is a significant red flag.

What does GCCF registration mean in practice?

GCCF registration confirms your kitten is a pedigree Siamese registered with the UK's premier cat registration body. It provides a verifiable record of your kitten's lineage and confirms the breeder operates to GCCF standards. For breeders, maintaining GCCF registration requires adherence to breed standards, health testing requirements and ethical breeding practices.

What is a GCCF pedigree certificate?

A document showing your kitten's verified lineage across four generations, issued by the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy. It is the difference between a genuinely pedigree kitten and one that is simply described as pedigree. Every Siam-Amor kitten comes with one.
